Sexual offenses involve intentional touching of another’s
body, which can be construed as being done for sexual arousal or
gratification. Sexual offenses may be charged in a variety
of ways and in different degrees. If convicted of certain offenses,
one may be required to register as a sexual offender. The sexual
offender registration requirements also apply to people who move
to Maryland, who were required to register as sexual offenders in
another state. In most cases, the term of registration is at
least 10 years, and it is required that the registration be updated
regularly, from every three to six months.
